Learning Objectives:

- Students will practice writing a narrative text based on personal or fictional experiences.
- Students will reflect on their learning experience and share their stories mindfully.
Approach:
- Mindful Learning: Students engage in reflection and focus on the details of a story.
- Meaningful Learning: Students connect the lesson to their own experiences and imagination.
- Joyful Learning: Students enjoy the process of creative storytelling in an interactive and fun way.
Lesson Plan
1. Warm-Up (10 minutes)
Activity: Mindfulness Activity - "Story in a Moment"
- Ask students to close their eyes and think about a time when they felt a strong emotion (fear, happiness, surprise, excitement).
- After a minute, ask students to open their eyes and describe that moment in a few words. How did it feel? What happened? What was the climax of the moment?
- Invite a few students to share their responses briefly.
Purpose:
- This activity helps students practice mindfulness by focusing on an event that they experienced, allowing them to understand the emotional component of narrative texts.
2. Introduction to Narrative Text (15 minutes)
Activity: Exploring the Structure of Narrative Text
- Provide an example of a simple narrative text (e.g., a short fairy tale or a personal story) on the board or as a handout.
- Read the text aloud and discuss its structure:
- Orientation: Introduction of characters, setting, and situation.
- Complication: The problem or conflict that arises.
- Resolution: The solution or outcome of the story.
Example:
"Once upon a time, in a small village, there was a brave young girl named Ella. She lived with her grandmother in a cozy cottage at the edge of the forest. One day, Ella went into the forest to collect herbs, but she got lost. She wandered for hours, feeling scared and alone. Just as she was about to give up, she saw a wise owl who guided her safely back home. Ella learned to never wander too far from home without a map."Purpose:
- Introduce students to the basic structure of a narrative text and show how emotions, events, and characters contribute to a story's meaning.
3. Collaborative Activity (15 minutes)
Activity: Group Story Creation
- Divide students into small groups. Each group will create their own narrative story, either based on a personal experience or a fictional scenario.
- Students will take turns contributing to the story, making sure it includes the three main parts of a narrative text: orientation, complication, and resolution. Encourage them to use creative ideas and imaginative details.
- Afterward, each group will present their story to the class.
Purpose:
- Promote teamwork and creativity while allowing students to practice constructing a narrative text together.
- Foster meaningful learning by allowing students to share personal stories or create imaginative tales with their peers.
4. Reflection and Presentation (10 minutes)
Activity: Story Sharing and Reflection
- After each group presents their story, invite the class to discuss the key components of the story: What was the complication? How was the problem resolved?
- Reflect on the mindfulness activity by asking students how it felt to recall and share their emotions in the story.
- Ask students to think about how storytelling can help express feelings and understand others.
Purpose:
- Reinforce the importance of structure in narrative texts by discussing the stories presented.
- Reflect on how sharing stories helps people connect emotionally and express their experiences.
Assessment
Formative Assessment:
- Ongoing observation during group work, storytelling, and reflection sessions.
- Provide feedback on how well students use narrative structure, emotions, and creative details in their stories.
Summative Assessment:
- Written Narrative Text: Students will write their own narrative text about a memorable event in their life (to be submitted as homework or in the next class).
Closing (5 minutes)
- Activity: Mindful Reflection
- Ask students to reflect on the lesson. How did they feel while writing and sharing their stories? What did they learn about the power of storytelling?
- Encourage students to recognize the importance of expressing emotions and experiences through stories, both personal and creative.
Purpose:
- Reinforce mindfulness by allowing students to reflect on their emotions and storytelling experiences.
- End the lesson on a positive, reflective note, helping students appreciate the value of sharing their stories.
